HAL Investments is a long-term investment company that is active across the globe from its office in Rotterdam. We started our investment activities in 1989, after the sale of the last remaining shipping activities of the Holland Amerika Lijn.

The current net asset value of HAL amounts to € 12.8bln (mid-year 2022).

HAL solely invests its own (family) capital, a proposition that allows us to focus on long-term value creation without pre-defined exit strategies.

Our unique investment strategy has given us the opportunity to add significant long-term value to our investments and has resulted in a varied portfolio with companies that have leading positions in various industries across the world.

The HAL portfolio includes large interests in listed companies such as Boskalis and Vopak as well as large interests in non-listed, leading businesses such as Coolblue (online retail), FD Mediagroep (media), Van Wijnen (construction) and many more.
